About Addison Texas
Addison is located in the northern part of the Dallas County with a population of 14,166 based from the 2000 census. The town has an area of 11.50 square kilometers. It was named after Addison Robertson who is its postmaster from 1908 to 1916. It was inaugurated as city in June 15, 1953 with M.W. Morris as the first city mayor. In 1982, the city was renamed into Town of Addison which is still its title until now though it is in fact a city. The prominent public school in the city is the Dallas Independent School District. It has a number of well-known private schools like the Greenhill School and Trinity Christian Academy.
