The Dallas annual Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving tradition shared among many families in the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. Hosted by the YMCA, the Turkey Trot is now held at Capital One Bank in City Hall Plaza, Downtown Dallas, but started 40 years ago at White Rock Lake. The 8 Mile Run begins at 9am and the 3 Mile Fun Run begins at 9:15am. Course Map & Driving Directions  Visit the official website here: http://www.TheTrot.org/
Dallas Thanksgiving

The Capital One Bank Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot consists of 2 events - an 8 mile race and a 3 mile fun run/walk.  The 8 mile race draws competitive runners from around the world.  The 3 mile fun run/walk draws runners, walkers and families of all ages.  Many families have made the Turkey Trot an integral part of their Thanksgiving tradition.

Even if you’re not a runner or walker, there are fun activities for the whole family to enjoy: family tent, clowns, pony rides, bounce houses, live musical entertainment and much more - bring the whole family!

Our 3 mile Fun Run/Walk is designed to accommodate every person in your family, workplace and neighborhood.  Gather all your family and friends and start Thanksgiving Day out right.  Grandparents, toddlers, infants in strollers – those who want to create a little room for that Thanksgiving dinner – all are welcome to be a part of the Fun Run/Walk.  The only “time” that matters is that we want you to have a good time at the Trot.

Find some friends, make some friends then enjoy all the activities and refreshments we have for you back at City Hall Plaza.  Most of our Turkey Trot participants’ traditions begin here.

3 Mile Fun Run/Walk begins at 9:15am

The original beginnings of the overwhelmingly successful Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot began with a competitive race at White Rock Lake with 107 participants.

Now at over 30,000 participants, we have maintained the original distance of 8 miles and have seen some of the world’s best runners compete in our 8 miler.

This event has created a tradition of outstanding participants including Olympians and local champions who have put Dallas on the map as a national locale for exceptional talent.  Also, those who “graduated” from our 3 mile event and runners from all over the state and nation are counted among those who traverse our beautiful, distinctively Dallas course.

The 8 Mile Race begins at 9am (wheelchairs at 8:59am).
